About the Trust
Long-time Ohope resident, Vic Davis, well known and highly regarded as an engineer, sailor, Rotarian, community leader and philanthropist, passed away in 2004 leaving the bulk of his estate in the Vic Davis Memorial Trust.
The Vic Davis Memorial Trust, which operates under the terms of a trust deed detailed in Mr Davis’ will, distributes on average $80,000 a year in grants and scholarships with a focus on mental health. The first year for the process of fund distribution was 2009.
This Trust offers three distinct categories of funding support in the field of mental health:
- Scholarships for individuals wishing to undertake training at under-graduate level as a mental health practitioner.
- Scholarships for individuals to train/study at post graduate level in the field of mental health.
- Research grants for organisations researching in the field of mental health. Maximum annual allocation is $40,000.
When to apply
Applications are considered once annually. All applications must be received on the appropriate forms, available on this website.
